The Barnardo Street/Stepney Causeway development consists of a total of 12 4-bed houses and 2 3-bed maisonettes built on the site that previously contained a number of bedsit homes and which had become a hot spot for anit-social behaviour.

Barnardo Street was officially opened by Jim Fitzpatrick MP and the Stepney Causeway site by Cllr Michael Keith, both in late 2005.

Finished on time and within the £3million budget, the partnership between THCH and Rydon Construction was praised by Councillor Abbus Shukur who spoke at the opening for relieving overcrowding.  Councillor Shukur continued by praising the work THCH have done in the area both by providing good quality family housing and for the general refurbishment of existing homes.

All homes were let to THCH tenants via our overcrowding strategy.  For more information on THCH's overcrowding strategy, please click here
